I rented the movie, thinking it would at least be a little bit entertaining with the cast it had. I was wrong. This movie was so bad, it was actually troubling just how bad the movie was. What is wrong with Uwe Boll? I just cannot seem to grasp how he could possibly think such a disgustingly bad movie is acceptable. The Bloodrayne games are two of my favorite games ever, Rayne would have to be in like my top seven favorite characters of all time, and he decided to piss on every single aspect of the game and the character.

The fight scenes were so slow and jerky it was pathetic it looked like the acters hadn’t been told anything about it and were only just being shown what movements they were going to do, as though after the scene they were going to spend an hour or two practicing it before shooting it for real. Hell the only fight scene that wasn’t painful to watch was the ones with Michelle Rodriguez, which was kind of odd because up until this movie I thought she was a terrible actress but since then I’ve seen a couple of herm ovies and she does alright. The sex scene was incredibly awkward and out of place, and an insult to the Bloodrayne series.

As you mentioned Rayne’s appeal is her wit, charm, sass, brutal violence, and sex appeal. I’ve always been impressed with how the Bloodrayne games handle the whole sex appeal thing, they use it to compliment the intense action, gore, and great humor, unlike in some games where the sex appeal just seems like a blatant attempt to pull the wool over gamers eyes in Bloodrayne, the game always seemed rather forward with it, like the sex-appeal was a core part of the gameplay, that without sex-appeal it wouldn’t be Bloodrayne.

Uwe Boll’s sex scene was the final nail in the coffin, I couldn’t sit through the whole thing, it was awkward, ridiculously unsexy, and a blatant attempt to make us look slightly more favorably on the movie.

I bought the movie off Amazon figuring it would be neat to have since I love the games (especially BR 2). So many little things he changed (presumably, he knew nothing about the games except the characters names…sort of, and the IDEA (but not storyline) of the games.

Her name is Rayne and she is a DHAMPIR, not a “damphir” as she’s called in the movie. Actually, I hadn’t even heard of a sequel until I read about it and decided to look it up. It’s 2008 and I knew nothing of a sequel. I wonder how it is.

The only neat thing about the movie: Kristanna Lokken’s sort-of-sex-scene. She’s hot, but they make her look very unflattering in the movie.

Uwe Bolls is a dolt. The man could ruin a porn film. He absolutely destroyed House of The Dead. They would have done better getting an orangutan to direct… with Super 8… and a $500 budget. He should have stuck to getting people to finance the films, THEN got people with talent to direct, write, produce, etc.. He should have NEVER put his mitts into the production.
Uwe Boll should be strung up by his toes by his films, and beaten with one of his warped story plots.

Dear Sir….I read your comments in reference to an article in the Morning Call Newspaper. Unfortunately you only quoted part of my comment. First…I personally do not have any problem with “geocachers”. Actually the idea of tacking items as a game with new technology like GPS is quite fascinating. We use GPS now with every tank install and removal in the city. I am amazed by how easy it is to use and how it makes our job so much easier when trying to locate or install underground tanks. Secondly….you stated that all the devices or packages that were placed in areas for the game were allowed to be there because they had prior authorization by the land owner. Unfortunately in the case we were involved with, the devise was strapped to a PPL Electric telephone pole in a parking lot of a Turkey Hill store. We contacted PPL and Turkey Hill (the people who called us in the first place) and they had no idea who would have attached that to their pole. I agree this type of game sounds like a lot of fun, and I know I would have enjoyed playing it, but we did not jump the gun or overreact to the incident. We just did our job, which included trying to find the owner of the devise. No cost was incurred, no one was injured and we as a Bomb Squad now know all about your game. So the next time we encounter this…we will know what we are looking at. Maybe next time one of these devices are put out in the public, you will notify the the local jursidition so this dosen’t happen again. Thanks you …and enjoy your search in the future.

I fucking hate the stupid ass director.he ruined a fucking great storyline and i think that the second one will also suck. Although Natashia Malthe looks alot like Rayne and shes a good actress, shes being ripped off by starring in the stupidest movies ever.
personally i think screenjems should have produced the movie they did awesome with Underworld.
But whatever i’ve already read about the second and third movie part2 has to do in like the cowboy age and part three “supposed to be like the first video game with the nazis and shit but theyre all gonna suck.

Good points. But I think most of your argument is lost in the fact that this is not War and Peace, or The Lord of the Rings. This is a fun, entertaining book on Pop culture and socio-politics. It’s hard to criticize plot structure and meaningfulness when neither of those are crucial to the content. Klosterman’s book — however immature and ridiculously off-the-wall it may be in nature — is imply entertainment. I’m sure many would agree that Chuck is one of the few (and possibly most talented) pop culture writers today that can make readers laugh out loud.

Or maybe not. Maybe I should lay off the coke.

I just saw the movie for the first and hopefully last time and to my surprise I learned they are making a sequel. I thought a movie had to at least have some potential to have a sequel. As we all know most sequels suck big time * Sneeze * Mortal Kombat *Sneeze Cough* What??
